Caught the clay-bug at The Singapore Clay Festival 2026?

泥好吗?| Pottery at Play returns this November to Well Played, with a two-part series, led by Lynnette Tan of @kokoro.studio.ceramics who brings her love for Japanese aesthetics and intentional living to our little studio. Open to beginners too for a warm and inviting handbuilding introduction to pottery and matcha-appreciation.

盛得下的日常 | Handbuilt, handheld: Chawan-making and matcha experience

Part I: Sat 21 Nov 2026 3.00 - 6.00PM

Over 3 hours, let your own chawan (茶碗 - tea bowl) take shape between your fingers. Invite the everyday onto your warm clay, exploring mark-making and textures with everyday plants, and perhaps even experimenting with oxides - watching them ebb and flow through the lines.

Inclusions:
- Choice of clay (700g): White earthenware / speckle-ware
- Texture play and mark-making with plants of the season

Complimentary:
- Exploring movement and lines with oxides as underpainting
- Glazing by Kokoro - Choose 1 among 3 glazes
- Drinks and light snacks

Part II: Sat 12 Dec 2026 4.30 - 6.00PM

Return in 3 weeks and experience an introduction to a Japanese tea ceremony, with premium matcha ready to sip from your chawan. Learn how to whisk and brew your own, with a complimentary whisk and scoop - accompaniments to your chawan.

Savour the full experience at a special introductory price of $88/pax for first 3 sign-ups.
Open to Part I or Part II as single workshop sign-ups too, but as we say, 艺起玩,更好玩.

Suitable for ages 17 and up. Mandarin support is available.
